Organizational Performance Audit™ Process

Overview

The Marlettie Group Organizational Performance Audit™ is a structured advisory process designed to provide athletic leadership with clear, independent insight into how their athletic department is functioning across leadership alignment, culture, governance, and student‑athlete experience.

The process combines confidential interviews, structured evaluation tools, and institutional risk analysis to deliver a candid leadership perspective that is rarely visible through traditional internal reporting structures.

Phase 1 – Executive Consultation

Each engagement begins with an executive consultation with athletic leadership to understand the strategic priorities of the department, the current operating environment, and any areas of concern leadership may wish to explore.

This conversation allows the assessment to be tailored to the institutional context while maintaining the independent structure of the audit process.

Phase 2 – Organizational Interviews

Marlettie Group conducts confidential interviews with key stakeholders across the athletic department, including:

  • Athletic department leadership
  • Coaches and program staff
  • Support and operations personnel
  • Selected student‑athletes

These conversations are designed to gather honest insight into leadership alignment, organizational culture, NIL dynamics, and the overall student‑athlete experience.

Phase 3 – Institutional Assessment

Insights gathered during the interview phase are evaluated using the Marlettie Group analytical framework, including:

  • Organizational Alignment Scorecard™
  • Institutional Risk Map™
  • NIL governance and structural evaluation
  • Student‑athlete wellbeing assessment

These tools help translate qualitative insights into clear leadership intelligence.

Phase 4 – Organizational Insight Analysis

Marlettie Group analyzes patterns that emerge across leadership, staff, and student‑athlete perspectives.

This analysis identifies:

  • Areas of strong organizational alignment
  • Emerging governance or cultural risks
  • Leadership communication dynamics
  • Opportunities to strengthen institutional stability

Phase 5 – Executive Advisory Report

Following the assessment, Marlettie Group prepares a comprehensive executive report summarizing key findings and institutional observations.

The report includes:

  • Organizational alignment insights
  • Institutional risk heat map analysis
  • Leadership observations
  • Strategic recommendations

Phase 6 – Leadership Briefing

The engagement concludes with a confidential executive briefing with athletic leadership. During this session, Marlettie Group presents the key findings and discusses strategic observations designed to support leadership decision‑making.

This conversation allows leadership to gain a clear, candid view of how the department is functioning and where opportunities exist to strengthen alignment, culture, and long‑term institutional success.
